are a result of improper lifting on the job. Strains and sprains and
serious disabling injuries can be prevented by following accepted procedures
for safe lifting and carrying.
The Farm Safety Association has produced a new video entitled “Safe Lifting and Carrying in Agriculture”. This video shows how farmers, their families and employees should handle various lifting situations on the farm to reduce the chances of injury.

The
Sun and Skin Cancer is a new video produced by the Farm Safety Association.
It describes the dangers of exposure to solar radiation, and provides
guidelines for protecting the skin against this serious hazard.
Different versions of the sun safety video have been developed to meet the specific needs of the agricultural and landscape industries. Copies of the video are available from the Farm Safety Association’s Guelph Office at a cost of $20 each.
