Safety Seminars At Your Place Of Business
The Farm Safety Association offers on-site training seminars free-of-charge to member firms*. These sessions provide information to help with the development of a health and safety program for your workplace. Seminars are one to two hours in length. We conduct the training sessions at your location. *Member firms pay assessments to the Workerplace Safety & Insurance Board under rate groups assigned to the Farm Safety Association. Our field staff can tailor presentations to meet your firm’s specific needs. This seminar covers:
A supervisor's main task is to get employees to perform their duties safely and efficiently. Good instruction contributes to safety, even if the subject matter isn't specific to safety. This seminar provides supervisors with an understanding of the need for (and importance of job instruction, describes how to give good instructions, and explains how employees can be motivated to work safely. Workplace Inspection Planned, periodic workplace inspections are a major part of any health and safety program. This seminar will introduce the trainee to the use of checklists; setting of priorities; location of information sources; and recording, reporting and follow-up of inspection reports. On completion, registrants should be able to conduct inspections in their own workplaces. Health and Safety Management This introductory seminar helps employers; managers and supervisors develop health and safety programs for their workplaces. Topics include:
Workplace health and safety is everyone’s responsibility. Joint health and safety committees encourage management and workers to co-operate in the effort to control and eliminate hazards. This seminar offers practical guidelines for establishing an effective safety committee. The roles and responsibilities of a committee and its individual members are stressed. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.)
