Swine Influenza
Swine influenza (sometimes called swine flu) is a strain of influenza virus that usually affects pigs, but which may also make people sick. Human Swine influenza is a respiratory illness that causes symptoms similar to those of regular human seasonal flue. Human cases of swine influenza A (H1N1) virus infection have recently been identified in Mexico, USA, Canada and in other countries. This is a novel influenza A virus that has not been identified in people before, and human-to-human transmission of the virus appears to be ongoing.
