Ontario Health & Safety Act - Employer Tools

Following are tools to assist with the Ontario Health & Safety Act. The documents are available to download for free in Adobe Acrobat format (pdf). If you don't have the Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can download it from here.

The Employer’s Package was compiled for the convenience of all Ontario Farming workplaces in an
effort to educate and build awareness of the three primary acts which impact labour in this sector.
These Acts include: Employment Standards Act (ESA), Workplace Safety & Insurance Act (WSIA) and the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA).

Farm Safety Association made every effort to provide materials that would be the most useful and relevant to any workplace in the development of an initial Health and Safety Program.

Developing a Basic Health & Safety Program For Your Farming Operation (30 pages) (Resource information and explanation of components and criteria required for a comprehensive Health & Safety program). This product is intended to provide the user with guidance in the development of workplace specific Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. In no way is this tool to be considered all-inclusive. It does however contain critical components and structures of an effective Health and Safety Policy. Each workplace needs to develop its own Procedures and Policies and may use this tool as a starting point. It is generally agreed that the development of workplace specific Policies and Procedures is an excellent step towards a workplace with a strong health and safety culture.
