The
Farm Safety Association has developed a comprehensive Farm Equipment
Safety
The Training program covers eight modules, including: The Farm Equipment
Operator, Common Equipment Hazards, Storage Energy Hazards, Power
Take-Off Safety, Other Hazards Associated with Farm Equipment, Accident
Prevention with Lockout/Tagout, Operator's Manual, Maintenance for
Safety's Sake.
Following successful
completion of the eight training modules, users may challenge a
Farm Equipment Safety Certification Exam. A certificate (valid for
one year) will be issued when the user achieves a score of 90 percent
or better on the examination.
The training
program also includes a section for farm owner-operators to rate
the minimal safety requirements of their farm workplaces.
