Farm Safety Association has produced an interactive CD training program that deals with confined spaces and dangerous gases in the agricultural workplace. It was developed with assistance from the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Rural Affairs.

The training program, which includes an interactive CD plus a manual, covers the hazards that may be encountered in confined spaces. It also details the precautions required in a variety of situations, including confined space entry procedures.

The Farm Safety Association has developed a multimedia Tractor Safety training program.

The program covers all aspects of tractor safety in a step-by-step format. Quizzes at the end of each section encourage participants to review what they have learned. The program is suitable for agricultural operations that need to show that health and safety training has been provided to employees. It is an excellent training tool for anyone who will be operating a farm tractor.

The Farm Safety Association has developed a comprehensive Farm Equipment Safety
The Training program covers eight modules, including: The Farm Equipment Operator, Common Equipment Hazards, Storage Energy Hazards, Power Take-Off Safety, Other Hazards Associated with Farm Equipment, Accident Prevention with Lockout/Tagout, Operator's Manual, Maintenance for Safety's Sake.

Following successful completion of the eight training modules, users may challenge a Farm Equipment Safety Certification Exam. A certificate (valid for one year) will be issued when the user achieves a score of 90 percent or better on the examination.

The training program also includes a section for farm owner-operators to rate the minimal safety requirements of their farm workplaces.

Safety Talks for the Agricultural Sector (Spanish worker training materials)

The Association has in the past couple of years, tried to develop materials to assist employers in their training programs with the ever-growing number of Spanish first language workers. In 2005, a series of audio CDs entitled “Safety Talks for Agricultural Sector”. The five disk series contains all eighteen of the Farm Safety’s tailgate safety talks on pertinent subjects in both English and Spanish. One of the disks contains printable pdf files of the tailgate sheets. The talks are ideal for teaching either English or Spanish employees about agricultural safety.
