Avian Influenza
(Bird Flu)

Avian Influenza is a contagious viral infection that can affect all species of birds. To date all outbreaks of the highly pathogenic form have been caused by influenza “A” virus of subtypes H5 and H7. On rare occasions, Avian Influenza can cause disease in humans.
